Japanese are not very familiar with the halal diet and it can be a challenge to find a halal-friendly restaurant even around a popular sightseeing location such as Akihabara.
Here are two curry restaurants that will make your mouth water.
CoCo Ichibanya Halal Akihabara
CoCo Ichibanya is the leading curry restaurant chain in Japan. Its prices are affordable and food sizes quite filling.
It is beloved by all sexes and ages because it is a nice place for a fast, but well-balanced lunch.
Its Halal Akihabara restaurant is just three minutes from JR Akihabara Station, easily recognizable for its green exterior.
This restaurant is one of few CoCo Ichibanya restaurants that are halal certified. This is because the meat used to make Japanese curry is usually pork. However, these restaurants have a menu with only chicken and beef dishes.
Here you can try some of Coco`s popular dishes such as plain curry, cheese curry, and vegetable curry. They also serve curry with deep-fried chicken and beef curry which are not available at regular CoCo Ichibanya restaurants.
The menu offers a variety of curry dishes. You can choose the amount of rice and the level of spiciness. There are kid sizes as well.
Coco Ichibanya Halal can be a great, affordable restaurant for families and groups because of its large menu and options to customize the dishes. They have takeout so you can take your Japanese bento back to your hotel.
