UHome is a rare type of hotel (even in Japan) that rents design rooms equipped with everything one may need during their stay. Regular hotels mostly have shared laundry and kitchen space or only provide rooms. However, UHome has both in every room as all rooms are separate apartments in an apartment building.
The company does not own any of the apartments which makes it similar to Airbnb, but since all are managed by the hotel, it is more hygienic, has higher security, and a receptionist at your service should you encounter any troubles.
There are two UHome hotels near Akihabara district, UHome Akihabara and UHome Kanda. As neither looks like a hotel but more like an apartment building, both can be easy to miss. Once there, look for UHome signboard to be sure you are at the right location.
Equipment and services:
- Air conditioner
- Hot tub
- Private bathroom (comes with a bathtub and amenities)
- Free WiFi
- Luggage space at the reception
Since you are actually renting a whole apartment, you can relax and enjoy your privacy without having to share and adjust to other guests.
This kind of accommodation, where an apartment building is used as a hotel, is quite rare so a few people are aware of their existence. However, most customers leave satisfied because of the high level of hygiene and privacy.
