There are more than a few popular arcade game centers in Japan but Taito is by far the most popular. Its largest store is Taito Station Akihabara.
Taito Akihabara Station is a mere three-minute walk from JR Akihabara Electric Town gate. Just continue along the widest street and you should easily spot a big red building with a space invader board.

- 1F・2F: UFO Catcher (crane games)
- 3F: arcade games
- 4F: video games
- 5F: arcade games
At the entrance, there are a few simple free games, such as the one where you have to press the button as fast as you can for 10 seconds. It is a fun way to spend your time while you are waiting for your turn or for a friend or just the green light to pass the street.
1F and 2F have only UFO Catcher games. As a reward, you can get Kirby, Pokemon, and other Nintendo character figurines.
Video and virtual reality games are on 3F~5F.
This is one of the racing games.
The most popular is Super Mario but here you can play a lot of other fun racing games (Mario Cart is on B1).
Taiko Tatsujin is such a long-popular game that it got a video game version as well. You can choose from a number of popular anime and J-POP songs.
For train fans, there is a train game “Densha GO”.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask the staff. They speak English as well.
