As VR products became more available to the public, many stores in Akihabara starting carrying them and game centers incorporated them into their line-up. Still, their selection is mostly very limited and tucked in a tiny corner.
We found the center with the largest VR area and the store with the biggest selection of VR equipment in Akihabara.
Where can you play VR games in Akihabara?
First, there is SEGA VR, located only three minutes from JR Akihabara station. It is on the sixth floor of a large red building called SEGA Akihabara 3.
SEGA Akihabara 3 is a giant game center that has seven different VR game booths on its VR floor.
The floor has a reception where you can reserve a timeslot. If you are lucky, you may be able to try one of the games without a reservation but this is rarely the case.
Those with any of the following conditions cannot play:
- Heart conditions or abnormal blood pressure
- Motion sickness
- Sensitivity to light
- Spine or neck conditions
- Cannot follow the caution board or staff`s instructions
- Have an implanted pacemaker
- Or are
- Under the influence of alcohol
- Expectant mothers
Also, each game has a different height, weight and, or age requirements.

- Must be at least 13 years old

- Must be 100cm (5’3ft) tall

- Must weight no more than100kg (220lbs)
- Must be at least 13 years old

Tsukumo VR has the largest selection of VR products.
TSUKUMO Group has multiple stores in Akihabara but this is the only one that specializes in VR. Here you have the highest chance of finding what you are looking for.
