Onoden is a leading electronics and appliances retailer. It is only a 2-minute walk from JR Akihabara Electric Town exit.
It was erected in 1951 by Ono-san whose name was incorporated into the store`s name.
Even though Onoden has only this one store, it has retained popularity for decades. There are more than few large retailer chains in Japan, such as Yodobashi or BigCamera, but Onoden has consistently stayed one of to-go stores for electronics in Akihabara.
Because of its long history, the customers can rest assure that they will get high-quality products and a reliable service.
At the entrance, there is a shelf with dozens of water bottles. The summer in Tokyo is extremely hot, so this kind of seasonal products gets put in the front.

On the upper floors, there are benches for a quick break. They are quite rare in big stores, but a good spot to snap a photo.
Here, you can meet some of the most beloved anime characters like Anpanman and Baikinman.
Aside from products made in Japan, there are also imported goods at excellent prices. Especially good for those worried that they won`t be able to use their electric appliances back home.
