As mentioned above, an RC is a radio‐controlled model vehicle.
Toy RC-s, which usually come assembled, are meant for children. However, there are also many more complex models targeted towards adults.
One of the reasons adults seem to enjoy RC models is that they can choose the parts themselves and make their dream car.
Also, it must be amazing to drive a car you made by yourself!
Where can you play with your new car?
Of course, you can do it wherever you may want. However, if you want to meet other people who share the same hobby, you can take part in a race.
Besides non-official races held by hobbyists, there is also TAMIYA Grand Prix, an official race organized by TAMIYA – an RC maker.
Many RC hobbyists get into RC striving to race and show off their skills at these races.
RC shops in Akihabara
There are a few shops like this in Akihabara, but we especially want to introduce you to Super Rajikon.
It is on the 2nd and 3rd floor of Hosan building.
As soon as you enter, you will be surrounded by showcases featuring various car models.
Here you can see airplanes and helicopters, too! So many products are ”stuffed” in this small place.
There is also a corner with plastic models where we found robots from Gundam. We even found a railway that turns into a robot!
It is a fun and a bit different store we recommend to everyone who has interest in cars.
