Enjoy soba in Akihabara! We recommend you three delicious soba restaurants!

It is not a secret that Akihabara is a famous tourist spot. To provide visitors with a great experience, they offer countless restaurants for everybody’s taste. However, this time we will focus on soba restaurants.

We will introduce you delicious stores close to the station where you can get soba at a reasonable price. Here you can experience high-quality Japanese soup stock in a relaxing atmosphere.

Original taste at a reasonable price – Hiyamugi Sagatani

Here you can taste the traditional soba. These noodles are made from 100% freshly ground buckwheat flour. The millstone is placed in the store itself.

Most of soba restaurants try to appeal to the customers by providing fast and inexpensive service. That is why their noodles consist of twenty percent wheat flour and eighty percent buckwheat flour. These are so-called Hachiwari-soba (eighty percent soba). However, Hiyamugi Sagatani uses 100% buckwheat flour soba to enhance the unique soba flavor.

It takes a lot of skill to knead soba noddles and get that nice, easy to swallow texture, which is why these restaurants can be very costly. Nevertheless, Hiyamugi Sagatani is surprisingly inexpensive. A portion of piled soba noodles is 290jpy and tempura soba costs merely 400jpy. If you order a set, you can get Premium malts for only 150jpy.

You can order Oudou Soba or choose the ingredients you want and get one made especially for you. They also serve hot-pot dishes, shabu shabu (thin beef slices swished in boiling water) and many more Japanese dishes.

This fashionable wooden restaurant has a Japanese drink menu. Relax with a glass of sake and enjoy your food like the Japanese do! We recommend you slightly dip your soba into the soup so you can feel the rich taste and even better smell.

Soba with crispy fried tempura – Rinya restaurant in Yodobashi Akiba!

This restaurant is located on 8th floor of  Yosobashi Akiba which is only 1 minute from Akihabara station. Their specialty is hegisoba (soba containing glue plant) kneaded with seaweed. We recommend you order it with deep-fried tempura.

There are also assorted seafood rice bowls and rice bowls and topped with deep fried fish. If you feel like eating a lot you can order a soba set with a rice bowl. They also have a popular mini menu for those who don’t want to overeat but still want to try many different foods.

Experience the appetizing sensation of soba going down the throat and the scent of buckwheat flour. If you visit during the lunchtime you can order Lunch beer. It is a perfect place to take a rest from sightseeing on a hot day.
