What is Sweet Paradise?

Sweets Paradise Cake is a take-out branch of Sweets Paradise, a chain-store famous for all-you-can-eat sweets restaurants. For a piece of tasty cake, you usually have to spend at least ¥500. However, here you can order a piece of most of the cakes for merely ¥108! It is a dream come true for us with a sweet tooth.

Sweet Paradise is well-known for its novelty products. The store suddenly got popular when they released cakes that look like a red fox and green raccoon (these animals often appear in Japanese folk tales).

Their all-you-can-eat restaurants have become very popular among sweets lovers. You can find them in Tokyo, Shinjuku, and Akihabara.

It looks like marbled meat but what does it taste like???

In the store on the first floor of Akiba1, aside from before mentioned red fox and green raccoon, they also sell cakes that look like ramen, Chinese dumplings, and Tenshinhan as a part of their Station Buffet edition.

Mixed among the delicious looking ones, you will see a few cakes from special collections which may look less attractive. However, they are so popular that we even saw a few SOLD OUT signs.

Besides the red fox and green raccoon series, the marbled meat cake is becoming a high selling product. Even though this is Sweet Paradise known for its inexpensive cakes, these novelty designs are a bit expensive. The marbled meat cake is ¥1480 (tax included). This is not a lot of money for high-quality meat but is it too much to pay for a cake? That is for the customers to decide.

The marbled meat, oden, and limited items!

Aside from the marbled meat, Chinese dumplings and oden (vegetables, fish dumplings and various other articles of food stewed in a thin soy soup), they are popular for their collaboration and limited edition cakes. The unusual cakes look so perfect that it must be difficult to get used to the smell after opening the box. We recommend you visit the store periodically to stay in touch with their new creations.

The meat sections are made using mille-feuille while cream and various ingredients are stuffed in between. It must be a laborious process to make a cake like this.

Even the different types of meat taste differently. To achieve this, they use orange tasted cream, berry flavored and nut chocolate, and green tea powder. The taste, smell and look are a bit conflicted. However, surprisingly enough, the cakes are quite delightful to eat.

Everything from inexpensive to unusual cakes!

Sweet Paradise in Yodobashi Akiba is not an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but it is a really inexpensive store with cakes starting at ¥108. Their unusual cakes are a big plus, too. You probably can’t bring them back as souvenirs, but you can always share them on Instagram. Ask the stuff to wrap your cake in an okamochi box (a carrying box) and bring it back to the hotel for a delicious tea-time treat.
